Early College Credits (ECC)
The three different types of Early College Credit (ECC) opportunities for EGUSD high school students are:
High School Articulation (Credit by Exam)
High School Articulation (Credit by Exam)
High School Articulation (Credit by Exam)
High school articulation provides a method by which college credit is awarded for the successful completion of an equivalent high school Career Technical Education (CTE) course. College credit is awarded on the college transcript if a “B” or better is earned in the high school class and on the college-approved final exam. Transcripted credit is notated as “Articulated High School Course- Credit by Exam Section”.
Not all CTE courses are articulated. Please view the Current Early College Credit Agreements to find the most up-to-date listing of articulated courses.
Dual Enrollment (High School Enrichment)
Dual Enrollment (High School Enrichment)
Dual Enrollment (High School Enrichment)
High School Enrichment dual enrollment refers to college courses taken by high school students outside of the traditional school day.
A high school student independently takes the college course, in addition to the student’s regular high school graduation requirements. This opportunity requires prior approval from a high school principal (or designee). The college courses are taught by the community college faculty and are open to the public.
Dual Enrollment (CCAP- College & Career Access Pathways)
Dual Enrollment (CCAP- College & Career Access Pathways)
Dual Enrollment (CCAP- College & Career Access Pathways)
CCAP dual enrollment refers to college courses taken by high school students as part of a formalized pathway to promote seamless transitions to community colleges for career technical education or transfer, improving high school graduation rates, or college and career readiness. These courses are taught during the school day and enrollment is restricted to high school students. Students enrolled in these courses may receive credit both at the high school and college levels.
Currently, EGUSD and CRC are looking to pilot CCAP Dual Enrollment opportunities. Check back here for more information.
